Question 3-way switch , no meter or continutiy tester?

I have two switches opposite end of stairs, they turn on one light
i’m going to find the switch box withe the single hot wire (I have a live circuit beeper/pen)
How can I find the other common terminal wire in the other box?

Good luck, the beeper is an inductive type tester and it will sense a voltage within a couple of inches. This means it will tell you that all of the wires are hot. Where the power wire is feeding the system can be different in any of 3 types of installation. If the feed goes to the light is one case, or it goes to 1 switch and the light wire is in the same box or the power goes to one box and the light is in the other box. Get an analog meter, or a relay type tester and learn to use them. Contact a qualified professional electrician to do the work, it’s safer and faster.
There should be a 2 conductor and a 3 conductor cable in the switch box. The wires connected to the switch from the 3 wire cable are travelers if this is not the case, describe what you are trying to do and the wires in each box, then maybe we can help.

I would like to know if LED-equivalent bulbs that are readily available online are legal to fit as headlights in a UK car.

Craftsman 5HP snow blower died.Pull cord won’t pull.Electric start won’t work.1 Auger won’t turn.Please help.?

This happened after using blower in 1 1/2 feet of snow. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Is it possible you ran it without oil?

If so, your engine has seized up due to lack of lubrication, that would explain both problems engine wise, as for the auger, im not sure about snow blowers because im from alabama and have never serviced one, (we dont get enough snow here to need them)

To confirm if your engine is seized, you will need to take the engine apart and inspect it….

Tools, does anybody know what this tool……….?

What would this tool be worth? Wanting to sell, but want the proper price!

If this is an old Craftsman from the 1950s, that means that it was made in the USA from cast iron, which is very desirable in a stationary machine.

New consumer grade tools are all made cheaply in China and I would pay five times as much for a well-cared for vintage Craftsman than I would for any new piece of junk made in China. Consumer grade table saws today are often made from aluminum, or sheet metal, which makes them too light so they are prone to tipping over, vibrating dangerously and they usually have crappy motors in them. Often times they are just a hand-held circular saw motor mounted in a cheap alluminum table. They are dangerous and not worth a dime. Your vintage Craftsman is a sweet piece of machinery which, to anyone who actually does work with a table saw will know, is a treasure.

List it on Craig’s List so you can sell it locally. Emphasize the Made in the USA quality and generous use of cast iron (which is a big plus!!). Really, you should keep this table saw for yourself, you can’t buy something like this new today. Not unless you go up into the $1000 and up, range and even then you’re still going to get a made in China machine.

I’ll bet that you can get $200 – $300 for it. Make sure you talk up the vintage quality aspect in your ad copy. Point out that this is far better than any $500 – $700 made in China piece of crap.
