Remodeling Bathroom, What type of flooring?

I’m re-doing my bathroom with a new shower, shower door, new vanity, new delta faucet’s. Probably new toilet topper and medicine cabinet. Would you do the floor in linoleum or ceramic tile? I’m covering about 5×9 area. I know ceramic would look best, but I’m all about ease of cleaning too.
The bathroom is off the bedroom and the male will be the primary user.

Ceramic or a porcelain glazed tile since the cost of glazed porcelains are practically the same as ceramic, which theres still nothing wrong with.
If your doing it yourself , there isn t a large cost difference from vinyl . Yes some but for 45 s/f it isn t a lot. If your having it installed then there is a price difference.
Cleaning is a breeze if you properly seal the grout, tiles you never have to worry about getting them clean in a bathroom.

Is it cheaper to buy a house or build one from scratch?

I currently stay in Trussville, Alabama renting a small 3 bed room home paying $650 rent $320 power and as we all know, housing prices have shot up like crazy in the last few years. It seems like the cost of labor & materials can’t have gone up as fast. Is it cheaper to build a house than to buy a pre-existing one? Is it difficult to find unused lots around major cities? How much do architects/contractors/etc. cost? Does anybody know some good resources for learning about the process? I’m in the market to get my first home soon, and it seems like it would be great to get exactly the layout & features I want instead of hunting around for an overpriced place that’s “almost good enough.” I’m not a handy person, so I don’t think I’d want to be my own contractor, or remodel an existing home. If anybody has experiences with getting a home built, I’d love to know what you think the advantages or disadvantages are.

Would this increase the value of of our home?

My fiance and I are going to do some remodeling to our home. We are going to take out a wall in our kitchen and put in a breakfast bar. We were wondering if we should take out the laminate flooring and put hard wood or tiling? We plan on selling our house within the next five year and would like to make a good profit. We live on one of the nicest streets in our town outside of Indianapolis and purchased our house for a very good price because of it being slightly out dated and the bad market. Since then the market has increased by 5% and climbing. So would tiling or hard wood increase the value of our home? Also What would be the best for counter tops in our situation?
The house is dated 1900 btw & the wall coming down is going to make it open into the dining area. thanks for all answers:D

For your money I believe you are approaching things the correct way. According to national averages a minor kitchen remodel will recoup 83% of the cost of the job. Couple that with the increase housing market in the greater Indianapolis area (especially some areas such as Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Zionsville and Geist – even tho still technically Indianapolis). Also that 83% very well may be up to 100%+ currently because so many contractors are currently lowering their prices. As far as wood flooring and tiling I would suggest asking around (either contractors, Real estate agent, friends, family) to see what is not only popular in your area, but has been for sometime.) When I lived in the Indianapolis area it seemed that hardwood was more prevalent in homes of friends and family. As far as the counter top, you should look for one that goes well with your kitchen layout but is also conservative enough to be liked future buyers.

what can i do?

ok, so today i let my 13 year old niece use my camera to take pictures of my moms birthday party. I had really important pictures on their. i recently got my house remodeled and i had to take pictures of before and after for the insurance and the tax so i can get my 10,000 dollars back. but when i got the camera the only pics i had were her. i asked what happened to my other pictures and she said “oh, i deleted them, there was only room for 20 pictures” i asked her didn’t you see the pictures i had she said”yeah but their were like nasty pictures of your house before you got fixed” i was really upset because i was going to claim them for my taxes next year. could i get in trouble for this? could i go to jail? what do i tell the insurance office? would they think it was fraud? i never got a chance to save them on my computer! i am really upset and i don’t know what to do! i have 2 kids

Home Remodel Checklist?
