I just bought a new house – the love of the plant, but not the kitchen. Need to remodel … ideas?

Hello, I just bought a new house – Love, but not the floor of the kitchen. The former owners with granite floors, stone tile countertops, maple cabinets and white appliances. as a contractor and not see the kitchen, here are my initial ideas, and much discourse, as it is more expensive to change. I believe that changing the counter to a lighter color and happens to a solid surface like Corian and Cambria. also change the color of the walls to find a shadow without the idea of a lighter brown color is good Thet very popular at this time.
