Oxo or Oxo Good Grips is one of the premier names in kitchen gadgets. After looking at several salad spinners I decided that I liked the Oxo Good Grips Salad Spinner the best. I had two different models that I was torn between. The first was made of high quality plastic and the other was made of stainless steel.
Both had the same easy-to-use configuration. Oxo Good Grips, as the name implies, is known for its ergonomically correct design. Experts often recommend the brand for people with arthritis and other disabilities. In this case the salad spinner is designed with an easy to grasp bowl shape. But the control that you push down on to create the spin is in the center of the basket. As you push down, the salad spinner stays secure.
The plastic Oxo salad spinner has an opaque plastic top with sides that you can see through. The Oxo stainless steel salad spinner has an solid stainless steel bowl with a clear top. Ultimately I chose the stainless salad spinner.
In this day and age with all the bacteria and viruses that are ending up in our fruits and vegetables I wanted an ultra-durable salad spinner that would withstand many super hot washes in my dishwasher. I felt the stainless steel salad spinner would hold up best.
